What is Chlamydia (CT)?

Chlamydia (CT) is a common, treatable sexually transmitted infection (STI) that can cause infection and potential damage to the reproductive systems. It is best to consider testing if you have reason to suspect a Chlamydia infection due to symptoms of:

  • abnormal vaginal or penile discharge
  • a burning sensation while urinating
  • pain/swelling of the testes
  • rectal pain, rectal discharge, or rectal bleeding

Chlamydia, if detected, can be treated with antibiotics.
